Don’t panic. Know what to do.
Accidents happen – and around a swimming pool, you want to know what to do when something really goes wrong. During this First Aid training, you will learn how to respond quickly and effectively to common emergencies in and around swimming activities.
The course consists of two parts:
E-learning
Before attending the practical training, you will complete an online e-learning course at home, which takes approximately 3 hours. It covers the essential theory through text, videos and quizzes.
This means that both beginners and people with previous First Aid experience can focus on practising their skills during the practical session.
After completing the course, you will have access to the e-learning materials for two years, so you can continue to use them as a reference.
Practical training
The practical training takes 3 hours and is all about learning by doing. You will practise realistic situations that may occur during swimming lessons, training sessions and competitions.
For example: a swimmer becoming unwell in the water, someone slipping on a wet poolside, a collision between swimmers, or a head injury caused by hitting the pool wall or starting block.

Certificate
After successfully completing both the e-learning and practical training, you will receive a First Aid certificate valid for two years.

- Preparation: e-learning, approximately 3 hours

- Certificate: First Aid, valid for 2 years
- Maximum: 12 participants per group

This First Aid course focuses on providing first aid after a casualty has been removed from the water, as well as dealing with other accidents in and around the swimming pool.
Water rescue skills are not included in this course. For these skills, we offer separate Swimming Rescue (Zwemmend Redden) training courses.

Entry requirements
No previous First Aid experience is required. You must complete the e-learning before attending the practical training.
Registration is open until 8 January 2027.
Costs
The fee for this course is €120 including VAT per person.

Nee, je ontvangt geen licentiepunten voor de EHBO opleiding.
Betaalt mijn vereniging de kosten voor deze opleiding?
Overleg dit altijd met de opleidingsverantwoordelijke binnen je vereniging vóórdat je je aanmeldt voor deze opleiding. Er kan een opleidingsovereenkomst van toepassing zijn, waarbij er voorwaarden gesteld worden aan hoe lang je trainer moet blijven bij de vereniging en hoeveel van de opleidingskosten je terug moet betalen als je eerder weggaat.
Ben ik als trainer of lesgever verplicht om een EHBO diploma of certificaat te hebben?
Als lesgever met een NRZ diploma of als zwemtrainer met een KNZB trainerslicentie is het hebben van een EHBO diploma niet verplicht. Natuurlijk is het wel aan te raden om te weten wat je moet doen in (medische) noodsituaties. Een EHBO diploma of certificaat is daarom wel aan te raden. In veel zwembaden is het bovendien verplicht om tijdens trainingen minimaal één gediplomeerd EHBO-er langs de kant te hebben.
Wordt er tijdens deze EHBO training aandacht besteed aan mijn specifieke sport?
Er is zeker ruimte voor eigen specifieke inbreng. Geef per mail aan welk(e) onderwerp(en) je graag zou willen zien terugkomen.
Hoe lang is het certificaat geldig?
Het certificaat dat je na afloop van de training ontvangt, is twee jaar geldig. Je moet dus binnen twee jaar een herhalingscursus doen.
Welk certificaat krijg ik na deze opleiding?
Je ontvangt na de opleiding het Schok & Pomp EHBO certificaat. Wil je een Oranje Kruis certificaat ontvangen, dan kan dat. De kosten hiervoor zijn € 15. Je kunt dit aangeven bij je inschrijving.
Ik heb al een Oranje Kruis certificaat, kan ik meedoen aan de herhaling?
Jazeker! Je kunt je voor deze opleiding inschrijven en meedoen, deze geldt ook als herhalingstraining. Geef bij de inschrijving dan aan dat je voor de herhaling komt.
